Much Needed Update

We are officially moved and in Columbia (and have been here for a few days, but I've had zero time to post a blog)! May quickly filled up with important firsts (Mother's Day with two kids, Avery's dedication, her first 9 hour night...woohoo!, our first night altogether in a hotel room, etc.) and with our transition from Clemson to our crazy summer as nomads. If you haven't heard our summer plans, we are living with my parents in Columbia to raise support for Renewal Church and then will move in with Matt's parents in Rock Hill for the same purpose. By August, we'll be in the upstate on the ground full-time with the church plant. Needless to say, we have an interesting summer ahead of us and would appreciate your prayers for our family! Here are a few fun pics from this month:

Avery's dedication on Mother's Day at Crosspoint

We traveled to Liberty University to interview for support for Renewal and decided to turn that long drive into a family vacation. Our friend's mom lives right outside of Washington D.C., and in the epitome of hospitality, allowed us to stay in their house while they were in London so we could visit our nation's capital! We had SUCH a great time! This was our first real vacation with just our family and it was very memorable. We had a great time visiting the National Zoo, the Natural History Museum, and the Air and Space Museum. We also got to see some family and friends which made the time extra sweet! The above picture is of Matt and Corrie on the National Mall outside of the Natural History Museum.

These Oragutans were out of a cage about 50 feet in the air, climbing above our heads. The landing on that pole was electrified so they knew not to climb down and they were too smart to jump, but it was amazing to see them out of a cage!

We stopped by my best friend, Chelsea's, house on our way through North Carolina to come home. We taught together in NC and it was so great to see her and her kiddos, Miles and Ada. We love you Chelsea!

And lastly, Avery is now 3 months old! I do remember what life was like with only one child (much more sleep, a little more time to myself, etc.), but I wouldn't trade my life now for anything in the world. Matt, Corrie, and I love Avery and she has fit into our family so easily. She is now smiling in response to us, "talking" constantly, and just today she grabbed onto a toy for the first time and played. I am amazed by and love watching babies grow! We go to the doctor next month so no stats this time, but I will be sure to post when we get them!
