Camping holds a dear part of mine and Matt's heart as we both grew up doing it with our families. My mom had a goal to visit every state park in South Carolina so at least once a year, we packed our tent and all the necessities and headed to a campground. Last year I experienced camping for the first time as a mother, figuring out how to cook, keeping children reasonably clean, and watching our kids bloom with the independence they were allowed to step into. My favorite camping memories though come from not camping with just our family (although I love spending time with my family), but we almost always went with two families who had children our age. This year, we were blessed to begin that tradition with our family as we camped with other families from Renewal. We continue to pray that God would knit our hearts together with other likeminded families to encourage each other on this long journey of following the Lord in life, marriage, and parenthood.
We stayed in Davidson River Campground and spent our days trout fishing, riding bikes, playing cards, and enjoying the great outdoors. Hope these pictures inspire you to try it out if you've never camped before! (Some of the following pictures are flagrantly stolen from Libby Wright, my amazing friend who is also a photographer. You can visit the Wright family's link for more pics of our trip and other great, encouraging thoughts).
